Helping small retail businesses (Independent high street mom & pop stores) move out of the pandemic using a hybrid of online and in-store shopping. This should be an omnichannel solution bridging the online-offline experience.

During the MACHathon summer festival members from the MACH ecosystem will make their products and knowledge available to the teams including technical and practical support.

Let’s show the world what we can do with MACH-technology. In addition to a lot of fun, great prizes await the teams with the best MACHathon ideas and results!

During the four weeks of the MACHathon, we will be hosting Member talks, Q&A sessions & TECH demos.

Teams must be made up of 3-6 participants

How to use search and discovery to augment in store experiences In this talk we're going to discover some of the ways in which we can unify a digital customer journey with a physical one, keeping them in lockstep to provide a better experience for a shopper and a better outcome for a retailer. We will discuss and decide how to connect disperate systems such as in store associate apps, customer data platforms, in person knowledge, and real time intent from a consumer, using a composable architecture of best in class tooling.

The re-imagined CMS interface What happens when you throw out the rules for how CMS UI "has to be" and start from scratch? John did just that when he dreamt up "Project Venus", the new Contentstack UI. In this session, he shows the final result, and gives a preview of what's been cooking since that launch. We have not stopped! Tune in live to see how we've re-imagined the customizable RTE (rich text editor), from building to publishing, and how both of these re-thinks change the game for developer and editor teams.

Federico Fusco HackYourFuture

Being a refugee wasn't their choice. Becoming a developer was. Federico will present HackYourFuture, a not-for-profit coding school for refugees and other people that have limited access to education and the labor market. Together with one of their graduates, they will share how HackYourFuture has helped over 400 people start jobs as web developers, quality engineers, and other IT roles. They will also share how you can join (big and small) companies such as Booking.com, KLM, Backbase, and many others to hire ultra-motivated and skilled young talent while making a positive impact on society.

Migration to MACH Many companies are interested in migrating their legacy Content, Search, and Commerce Solutions to a MACH architecture. In this session, we'll focus on organizational aspects as well as functional & technical aspects of migrating to MACH. We'll discuss topics around the required level of organizational maturity, capacity constraints, perceived functional gaps vs. platform flexibility, integration into existing on-premise landscapes, and knowledge gaps around real cloud-first. We will mainly look at B2B scenarios, but we'll also touch upon B2C and B2Any scenarios.

Build faster sites more quickly with an integrated Jamstack platform Layer0 is an all-in-one Jamstack platform specifically built to deliver developer velocity and the fastest possible dynamic sites using modern frameworks like Next.js, Nuxt.js, and Angular. In this talk we’ll walk through how the platform integrates serverless, caching, and edge logic with your favorite JavaScript frameworks into a single platform. Layer0 replaces the work you would have to do stitching together over 20 different services on a typical cloud provider, letting you focus on building your app and not piecing together infrastructure.

Creating Modern Storefront with MACH Alliance eCommerce Platforms What is Headless Commerce and what do you need to build for a perfect head? In just a few years Headless Commerce shifted from an interesting new trend to the market standard. It allows building eCommerce from multiple services specialized in different areas (Content Management, Order Management, Personalized Search etc.) instead of using a single, monolithic platform that takes care of everything. This way of building eCommerce stores is much more flexible and usually ends up with a much more optimized setup, but it also introduces a lot of new challenges and approaches. In this talk, I want to make the audience familiar with the modern way of building eCommerce websites and show how to build a simple shop with a state-of-the-art tech stack.

The Valtech Vision for post-pandemic retail When COVID-19 hit in 2020, the world scrambled to adapt and survive. It was a brutal period for many B2C businesses, and both businesses and consumers were forced to change their behaviors. Despite all suffering, this historic period in time has also been and continues to be a significant catalyst of innovation and change across the B2C sector. The customer journey from initial awareness to the point of purchase is in the midst of being fundamentally reshaped. At Valtech, we believe that many of these changes are here to stay. Learn about our predictions for the Future of Retail in this online session with Pascal Lagarde, SVP Commerce at Valtech.
